The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is an organization that is assigned by the government to monitor and cover the public and private higher education in the Philippines. Like in comelec another governing body, CHED also has its own en banc; this is a collegial body that assigned in formulating plans, policies and strategies relating to higher education and the operations of the CHED. It consist of five full time members—chairman and four commissioners. I include information to my article to enlighten us, if whom are the assigned to such programs.

Aside from covering public and private higher institution it also covers degree-granting programs in post-secondary educational institution in the country. CHED also Monitors the quality of education that the higher institutions given to the students.

Actually the creation of CHED is part of wide agenda/programs to reform the educational system in the country. Part of CHED’s reform is trifocalization of the education sector here in the country. by the way, this trifocalization of education would give a proper attention to basic, training and vocational, and higher education. The tree governing bodies has their own priority-- —Commission on Higher Education is assigned for tertiary and graduate education (CHED), The Department of Education is for basic education, and lastly the Technical and skills Development Authority (TESDA) for the technical-vocational and middle level education.

CHED also has the authority to award Accreditations and Center of Excellence in the higher Education institutions based on the Quality of education and facilities that they have. CHED have more authority to suspend classes in Higher education Institutions in the country, if and only if necessary.

alam nyo, marami naman talagang magagandang proyekto ang pamahalaan when it comes to education. The thing is, nawawala ang essence nito dahil sa korapsyon. Yung mga libro na dapat sana may pondo eh nawawala dahil napupunta lang sa mga corrupt officials. Sana yung bagong administrasyon maging mapagmatyag sa mga korap para naman maging effective ang kanilang mga projects.
