Your issued ID ay parang extension ng office nila after you have meet their requirement.

Merriam-Webster defines 'valid' as "having legal efficacy or force; especially: executed with the proper legal authority and formalities".

The expired ID is not valid simply because it has passed (gone over) its validity period. Obviously, an expired ID does not have "legal efficacy or force".  You cannot drive with an expired driver's license, nor travel abroad with an expired passport because they have lost their validity.

On the other hand, there are other proofs of identity that do not have expiry dates such as:Tax Identification Number (TIN) Card, Social Security System (SSS) Card, Voter's ID, Philhealth Card, and others that are all valid for your lifetime.

May point kayo dyan.

Valid means "hindi pa expired" as simple as that. Pera po ang pinaguusapan dyan kaya po naniniguro ang mga establishments na tama ang pagbibigyan ng pera at pinakamamadaling identification ay "valid ID" not just an ID card.
